Anna R. (12 – 18 yr) – Lonely, but NOT ALONE!

Medium: Floral Arrangement
Dried and dyed Lilac Hydrangea, dried red roses, purple statice, white Baby Breath, gum leaves.
“My arrangement reflects loneliness, numbness and melancholy. Purple and blue express a quiet sadness, the feeling of not being noticed or wanted.”
Curator’s Notes:
Anna chose the Cool Blue & Purple palette. The colours carry a quiet dignity, but also the weight of sadness that many of us have felt.

Sophia Z. (12 -18 yr) Serene Simplicity

Media: Dried dyed lilac Hydrangea, purple, pink, lilac Statice, dyed blue Baby’s Breath, yellow Billy Button, yellow Wattle, spray Gold and green Bottlebrush and Dollar Gum leaves.
“The workshop gave me a great experience of making a bouquet and I learned a lot throughout the process. Overall, I enjoyed it!”
Curator’s Notes: the artist describes her experience simply: she enjoyed it. In many cultures, openly sharing emotions is not encouraged, so words can sometimes feel limited. Her bouquet, however, speaks in colour and form.

Media: Dried Wattle, dried and dyed Yellow Baby’s Breath, dried Pink Protea, Orange Paper Daisy, Yellow Billy Button, spray Gold Leucadendron, Dollar gum and green gum leaves.
